A Bright 2013

Appreciation is the highest form of prayer, for it acknowledges the presence of good wherever you shine the light of your thankful thoughts. ~ Alan Cohen

We can't let the year pass without thanking our sponsors for making it possible for us to accomplish our goals. Words can't entirely express our gratitude to everyone for supporting Project Sunshine.

Thank you Project Sunshine Team!

Bright Start Christmas in Barangay Apas, Cebu City

The Christmas celebration won't be complete without our annual gift-giving for Bright Start main beneficiaries in Barangay Apas, Cebu City. Our special needs kids and families got their presents and goodies last December 23, 2013.

Happy Birthday, JESUS

How we love Christmas and all the joy it brings!

For everyone who has supported us in our mission since 2009, most especially our current special project --- Project Sunshine, Daghang Salamat!

Merry Christmas to you and your families!

Project Sunshine Update #9: Christmas Gift for Bogo Health Center

Christmas is a season for kindling the fire for hospitality in the hall, the genial flame of charity in the heart.
~ Washington Irving

Project Sunshine Update #8. Baybay I SPED School Second Snack Drive

“For it is good to be children sometimes, and never better than at Christmas, when its mighty Founder was a child Himself.”
― Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol

The second snack drive was held last December 19, 2013. The SPED pupils had so much fun since some friends of the SPED teachers also gave gifts and more food.

Project Sunshine Update #6: Baybay I SPED School First Snack Drive

The first of 8 snacks drives for Baybay I SPED School (Baybay, Leyte) was held today, December 13, 2013. As part of phase 2 of Project Sunshine, this is Bright Start's way of supporting the school's feeding program for their 107 students. Mrs. Elsa B. Tabudlong, Baybay I Central School Principal, with the assistance of SPED teachers facilitated the event.

Thank you Project Sunshine Team.

Project Sunshine Update #5: Bogo Health Center

This Sunstar news article reminded us of the Starfish Story (please view first picture). It has always guided us when we began doing projects in 2009.

For Project Sunshine, we have a number of updates for Phase 2. We are happy to share that Bogo Health Center's roof has been repaired. The health center staff can now provide services to all 29 barangays in Bogo City (Cebu) without worrying if it rains or if it gets too hot.

Come Baby Jesus

As we prepare for the celebration of the Nativity of Jesus, we continue to appeal for help on behalf of the children. We hope that as we immerse in the spirit of giving this Christmas, we will not forget those who still do not have homes and classrooms until now. Although it has been a month from the Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) tragedy, a whole lot can still be done. For Project Sunshine, more donations would mean more classrooms can be fixed.

Project Sunshine Phase 2: School Matters

School helps children resume a sense of normalcy, which is critical to their emotional recovery. Schools are also a protective environment for children, who are more vulnerable to exploitation and abuse in the aftermath of disasters.
