Project Sunshine Phase 2: School Matters

School helps children resume a sense of normalcy, which is critical to their emotional recovery. Schools are also a protective environment for children, who are more vulnerable to exploitation and abuse in the aftermath of disasters.

From Japan with Love

As Akiko Okano was planning a visit to Cebu, she contacted Bright Start and asked if she can donate some items. Akiko kindheartedly gave the items last October 13, a day after she arrived from Japan. Bright Start truly appreciated her efforts not only because we were the recipient of such donation but also because we are reminded once again that as we travel and go about our daily journeys in life, we can always find time to share if we choose to do so.

Thank you Akiko. We hope you had a great time in Cebu. Cheers to more meaningful and happy vacations!

Teacher's Love Lives On

Ms. Xenia Maglasay, a resident of Talamban, Cebu City, sent us an email asking if Bright Start would be interested to have some books. Her mother who was an elementary school teacher owned them. Unfortunately, she has passed away.

We are very grateful that these books were entrusted to us. It has been awhile since we have received donations and this was such a welcome surprise. Christmas is just around the corner and we are excited to give these books to a public day care.

Thank you very much Ms. Xenia! More blessings to you!
